Possibly more than anyone on Earth, Britney Spears' life is constantly documented by the media, which voraciously reports on the singer's every step and misstep. But what's it like to be in her shoes?

Britney has joined forces with MTV for a 90-minute documentary about her return to the pop-music spotlight. Tentatively titled "For the Record," the special is set to air on November 30 at 10 p.m. on MTV, two days before Circus is released on December 2 (the singer's 27th birthday).

"So much has gone on over the last couple of years and there's a lot that people don't know about me that I want them to know," Spears told MTV News in a statement about the special. "I wanted to make this film because I started to feel like I wasn't being seen in the light that I wanted to be seen in. This is an opportunity to set the record straight and talk about what I've been through and where I'm headed."

The documentary combines personal stories with behind-the-scenes footage of her comeback. Cameras follow her to the recording studio, to rehearsals, to press tours, to the video shoot for her latest single, "Womanizer," and even to her hometown in Louisiana. Backstage footage from her recent triumphant appearance at the Video Music Awards is also featured.

Through it all, we hear Britney talking about the hardships that led up to this comeback. "I've been through a lot, and there's a lot people don't know," she says in the film. "Sometimes it can get lonely 'cause you don't open the gate. I'm stuck in this place, and I just cope every day."

Britney also owns up to the mistakes the world has watched her make, and offers some telling insight into how she feels about it all now. "I sit there and I look back," she says, before asking rhetorically: "I'm a smart person, what the hell was I thinking?"

"For the Record" airs Sunday, November 30 at 10 p.m. ET on MTV.

AP: How will you work with your fellow hosts? Will there be a group song-and-dance number?

I think they just thought about it more and therefore gave reality television series nominations. And now they put hosts in there, too, and Im so flattered to be in that group. Im shocked, to be quite honest.
Seacrest: The Emmy telecast reflects what television is throughout the year. Certainly, throughout the last few years weve seen the evolution of unscripted shows and their popularity with audiences. It certainly speaks to the evolution of the medium.
Mandel: When I used to watch the Grammys in the first years when rap was getting accepted as a form of music, I feel like reality is the rap of TV. Weve finally arrived and been accepted as part of the television industry. I feel like a television rap artist.
Probst: I think this was the Emmys way of acknowledging that a majority of the most popular shows on television right now are reality shows. As far as having us host? I think it just means the pool is quite dry.
Bergeron: Well find out the morning after the Emmys, when we look at the ratings. It may be the last time you see reality hosts anywhere near the show.

AP: Is Heidi Klum counseling you all on what to wear?
Mandel: However shed like to dress me up, Im happy to accommodate.
Seacrest: I havent gotten any, but knowing how candid she is shell have something to say. I hope Im safe. Im not going with any embellishment or accessory that may walk me to the line with Heidi. This is not the right place to debut something that will leave a mark with the audience.

AP: What are the best and worst things about hosting a live show?
Klum: The worst thing is that a lot of things can go wrong, but at the same time, thats also maybe a good thing, because maybe you can use that to your advantage and make a joke out of it. I wouldnt mind if one of the other guys would completely do some twisted thing on me and totally get me discombobulated and you kind of have to shift gears.
Probst: Its one and the same: its that its live. I think every host will tell you they love doing live better than anything because youre living in that moment of, `I can choose to say or do this right now and it will either work or it wont, and theres only one way to find out.
Bergeron: The best thing undeniably is the unpredictability of it. When you walk out there, you have one shot at it and you best be completely focused and centered. The worst thing is it ends too quick. The most relaxed I am is when Im on live television.
Seacrest: I love the moments that come in every live show that are unexpected. I love the interaction with the audience and people in the room and I loathe any word in the TelePrompTer. Im not really great at the TelePrompTer.
Mandel: Free pants.

AP: Got any tips for winners delivering their acceptance speeches?
Seacrest: One line and out. The best thing on live television for the winner and host is to be in the moment and not overthink what youre going to do or say. That genuine, honest moment is what we like to see on television.
Mandel: Ive never actually won anything, so I have no tips for anybody who might be winning something. But coming from comedy before I did `Deal and working in front of a live audience, I think you just dont overthink. Go with your heart and go with your gut and whatever happens will be true and hopefully entertaining.
Probst: Yeah, get off the cards! Say what you want to say. Say something real. The best moments are when people shoot from the hip and actually say something honest. Theres not enough of those moments.
Klum: Its always good to be humble. Its an honor to be there to begin with. I mean, yes, you want to win, but look at all these shows and all these things that are out there. Already having a chance to be on TV is a great thing.
Bergeron: The key thing would be that, as fascinating as they think their chakra alignment specialist and attorneys assistant are, leave them out. Keep the `thank yous as concise as possible, and if you can name-drop while thanking people, even if you dont know them, do so. I once thanked Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts and the pope. I dont know them, I just wanted to book them on `Hollywood Squares.
AP: Youre used to working in front of a live audience. Whats different about working in front of an industry crowd or whats the most embarrassing thing that could happen?
Bergeron: Repeated acid reflux. Its hard to cover that.
Mandel: The only thing that makes this a little different is that within the midst of you trying to entertain and move a show along, youre also competing. Thats the difference, I think. But I dont see any difference working in front of this crowd versus working in front of any live audience I work in front of. Were just all people with different jobs.
Probst: Its definitely different working in front of an industry crowd, especially since the Emmys are primarily for the scripted world. Anybody in the reality world always feels a little bit like the stepchild.
Seacrest: I see us as a big target - a target of multiple people. Whereas you take the whole bullet as an individual.

AP: If you could trade jobs with another reality host, what show would you want to work on?
Bergeron: Howies, because I always wondered what Id look like bald.
Mandel: Heidi Klum. I think when you think fashion, you think Howie Mandel.
Probst: If I was going to trade shoes, Id like to trade shoes with Ryan (Seacrest). Id like to see Ryan do `Survivor and see how hed do it, and Id love to just have a chance to go one-on-one with Paula Abdul.

The final gross puts it only behind the Rolling Stones’ 2005-2007 A Bigger Bang tour ($558 million), and U2’s 2005-2007 Vertigo tour ($389 million), and ahead of the Stones’ 1994-95 Voodoo Lounge tour ($320 million), according to Boxscore.
The tour, which received top honors at the Billboard Touring Conference Awards last November, was produced by Live Nation Global Touring chairman Arthur Fogel, and Bill Zysblat, partner at RZO Productions. It will be chronicled on the live CD/DVD The Police: Certifiable, due Oct. 7 exclusively through Best Buy.
Clearly, they're one of the biggest bands of all time and this tour has just proven how strong an act they are around the world, Fogel tells Billboard. I think they truly enjoyed confirming the legacy of the music and the band.

Family film outsells Harold Kumar by 3-to-1 margin
20th Century Fox Home Entertainments s Island captured the top spot on both the national home video sales and rental charts the hebdomad ending Aug. 10, proving that theres no time like the summer to release a family film.
s Island came to DVD and Blu-ray Disc with a boxoffice gross of just $48 million, only its popularity on magnetic disk was enough to rush the old weeks round top seller, New Lines Harold Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay, to a distant No. 2 on the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert gross revenue chart. In its debut week, s Island outsold sophomore Harold Kumar by a margin of more than three to one.
Meanwhile, on Home Media Magazines picture rental graph, s Island scored a narrower victory, with Harold Kumar snagging 78% as many rental minutes as the Fox fellowship film for a third-place finish. Sonys the previous weeks top renter, slipped to No. 2, with 85% as often rental action as s Island.s direct-to-video Starship Troopers 3: Marauder debuted at No. 5 on the sales chart but mustered a faint bow at No. 12 on the rental chart.
On the Nielsen VideoScan Blu-ray chart, Dark Knight pyrexia spurred Batman Begins to the round top spot, with at No. 2. s Island debuted at No. 3. The previous weeks whirligig Blu-ray title, MGMs Stargate: Continuum, slipped to No. 6.

Britney Spears and Russell Brand are teaming up for a series of promotional spots that will be aired on MTV as part of the campaign for the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards on September 7, 2008. Britney Spears received a Best Female Video nomination for the hit Piece of Me.
But its not only her winning of the award that keeps fans interested in the award show. When the TV spots started airing on MTV, fans cannot help but wonder about the Mr. Russell Brand. Is he bound to be the next Britney Spears hubby?
Russell Brand is a 33 year old English actor, comedian, radio announcer, TV host, actor, and columnist. Brand started his career at the age of 15 as a theatrical actor.
He pursued stand up comedy in 2000 at the Hackney Empire New Act of the Year. He became a VJ on MTV in 2001. He also hosted the Big Brothers EForum in 2004. He co-starred in a BBC comedy show Blessed in 2005. And co-runs the radio show The Russel Brand Show on BBC 6 Music since April 2006.
Russell Brand is not just known for his hosting and acting prowess. He is notorious for his seemingly attention-grabbing behavior. He was dismissed from his VJ role on MTV after he came to work dressed in an Osama bin Laden costume after the September 11 attack.
In 2002, Russell Brand was axed from XFM after reading live on the air a pornographic material. And just this July of 2008, Brand prank-called the Northampton police stating that he spotted a man who was responsible for a series of assaults. The prank call was later traced to Brand and authorities are yet to announce charges for him.
The new MTV VMA spots again showed the naughty side of Russell Brand. The first version showed Britney Spears pinching Russell Brand, and the latter reacting just so suggestively. The other version had Russell asking Britney about his surname which later lead to Russell stating that his surname will be Britneys next.
Well, the promo spots turned out to be a big publicity campaign. But can this really lead to a new Britney Spears adorable mistake? Who knows, after the VMA Awards, Britney Spears could very well become Britney Brand. But who cares, so what.
